Reign of Theatre at Vilnius University [2010-04-16]
The Theatre of Vilnius University is celebrating 440 th anniversary this year. The first student performance - „Hercules“ by S.Tucci - was staged in 1570. The events of the anniversary week „ Alma Mater theatralis“ will take place from April 19 to 24 at Vilnius University.

An award from the Republic of Slovenia [2010-03-10]
On Wednesday, 10th of March the President of the Republic of Slovenia Danilo Türk and his wife will visit Vilnius University and meet the Rector prof . Benediktas Juodka. At 19.15 an Order of Merit of Slovenian Republic will be awarded to Jelena Konickaja, assoc. professor of the Department of Russian Philology, for her achievements in teaching and publicizing Slovenian language and culture. The event will take place in P.Smuglevičius Hall of Vilnius University Library ( 3 Universiteto St.).
