Admission requirements

Vilnius University welcomes international students who are motivated for studies, have professional ambitions and can fulfil admission requirements.

Application deadlines:
 
For programmes taught in English
for non-EU/EEA citizens – 1st  May
for EU/EEA citizens - 15th June
For programmes taught in Lithuanian
for non-EU/EEA citizens –1st  April

The documents to be submitted:

  • Application form.
  • Proof of a secondary education certificate.
  • Transcript of records/mark list of the secondary school.
  • Certificate of recognition of the qualifications issued by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education.
  • Letter of motivation.
  • Copy of your passport or other document of identification.
  • For the Study programmes in English: proof of proficiency in English.
  • TOEFL score: 550 (PBT paper-based test) or 80 (iBT internet-based test); IELTS score: 6.
  • Note 1: Applicants are required to request the testing authority to mail an official score report to Vilnius University.
  • Note 2: If your first language is English and/or if you have a university degree in English, you will be exempt from providing an English language test score.
  • For the Study programmes in Russian: Russian language proficiency level C1.
  • Note: If your first language is Russian and/or if you have a university degree in Russian, you will be exempt from providing a Russian language test score.
  • A copy of document showing paid application fee.
  • 2 recent passport size photos (3×4).
Mail the filled in application with all the required documents by the indicated deadline to:

Note: Applicants have to fulfil general admission requirements and if it is applicable specific programme requirements. Please see the catalog of study programmes.
Applicants might be asked to submit additional documents.
 
Applicants Who Graduate in Spring
Applicants graduating in spring and having their diplomas issued later than application deadlines (in July, for example), please send an application form and the most recent official Transcript of Records by the required deadline. Please inform the Admissions Officer when the final diploma is issued.

All the documents have to be either in English or Lithuanian language. Subscription of the Notary for English and Lithuanian translations of all written documents is required.

Note: All documents issued in languages other than English or Lithuanian should be supplemented with an official translation. A translation is considered to be official when it is bound to a certified true copy of the document in the original language and is attested by the translator’s signature. Documents issued in English (for programmes taught in English) or Lithuanian do not require a translation.
