The Executive Committee of the Coimbra Group will discuss the cooperation opportunities with VU Top Administration during the visit in Lithuania. The delegation will visit the Joint Centre for Life Sciences, Scientific Communication and Information Centre, will participate at the informal disputes with the VU staff.
Since 1 January of this year VU officially became a member of the Coimbra network. The first and the only University from Lithuania also the second in the Baltics after the University of Tartu – the membership demonstrates a significant recognition of the VU authority internationally.
"Membership in the Coimbra Group and the visit of the Executive Committee certify the continuity and determination of the VU efforts to join and level the leading European universities. It enables us to directly discuss possible cooperation with prestigious universities in Europe", - says the Pro-Rector for Partnership professor Greta Drūteikienė.
Founded in 1985, the Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European multidisciplinary universities of high international standard. This network consists of 37 universities from 22 countries around the world and includes the universities included into the first top-hundred of the prestigious QS World University Rankings, such outstanding universities as University of Edinburgh, Trinity College, Leiden, Uppsala, Bologna Universities and others.
