The Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Medicine organised an event for representatives of foreign agencies who cooperate with the university and help attract international students for undergraduate studies. Currently, over 700 students from abroad study at the VU Faculty of Medicine, deepening their knowledge in the integrated study programs of Medicine and Dentistry, the Nursing Bachelor’s study program and the Systems Biology Master’s study program. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen international cooperation, present the academic environment, infrastructure and scientific achievements of the university.

At the beginning of the event, the participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dalius Jatužis, who presented the fields of activity, values and strategic goals of the university and the faculty.

“By establishing relations with international agencies, not only do we introduce Vilnius University, but also strengthen trust and long-term cooperation, which helps recruit talented students from all over the world,” said the Dean of the faculty.

The Vice-Dean for Undergraduate Studies Assoc. Prof. Laura Nedzinskienė and the Head of the Study Department, Jekaterina Bortkevič, introduced the study programs, integration processes of international students and opportunities for partnership.

“We want our partners to see up close what a studying environment we create for international students – from academic quality to the everyday community atmosphere. Such direct contact helps us to better understand each other and ensures that students coming to Vilnius University feel welcomed and involved in the study process from the very first day,” said the Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
