RESEARCH PROJECTS CARRIED OUT IN 2018

Projects funded by University Budget

Plant Genetic Resources, Biological, Molecular Studies and Biotechnology. Group Leader Prof. Habil. Dr. I. Pašakinskienė. 2016–2020.

Long-term dynamics of ectomycorrhizal community of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) seedlings  outplanted in forest clear-cuts of different age were investigated. The ECM fungal communities of Scots pine seedlings into clear-cut sites, replanted from nurseries into clear-cut sites and the ones replanted from nurseries into forest sites were compared. Assessment of vegetative reproduction capacity (bulbs mass) of tulip (Tulipa L.) varieties (‘Monte Spider’/Double Early Tulips, ‘Antarctica’/Triumph Tulips, ‘Claudia’/Lily Flowered Tulips, ‘Lion King’/Fringed Tulips  and ‘Virchic’/Viridiflora Tulips) was investigated and compared according to mother bulbs size. The rhododendrons (Rhododendron L.) cultivars were propagated by tissue culture. The Anderson’s nutrient medium supplemented with 1 mg/l 2iP is suitable for the in vitro stabilization of leaf-throwing (deciduous) rhododendrons, and the standard nutrient medium PWM – for evergreen rhododendrons. Morphological characteristics of Lithuanian primroses varieties (Primula L.) were evaluated, too.
