Based on the play "Net" by Gintaras Grajauskas
Director Dr. Jūratė Grigaitienė
Lecturer of Stage Language Assoc. Prof. Virginija Kochanskytė
Even before the global pandemic, the topic raised in the play “Net” by playwright Gintaras Grajauskas, created in 2016, about the pitfalls and dangers of virtual communication on social networks, is becoming extremely relevant today. Individuals wandering through the boundless labyrinths of the Internet, having renounced a living connection with real life, are increasingly moving away from the real world. Not only the main hero of the play, but also all people are imprisoned in the prison of the Internet “Net”. They often get lost in the flow of meaningless information, noise and no longer understand themselves or their loved ones. Virtual communion is often accompanied by existential loneliness, sadness, fear, isolation, bullying, disappointment, etc. Today, modern smart technologies have become both a person’s savior and a prison.
