Accommodation at Vilnius University: A Choice for Every Need
Finding the right place to stay is essential for a productive and enjoyable experience at Vilnius University. Our accommodation services are designed to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. However, please be aware that the number of available accommodation places is very limited and demand is high.
Registration
Applications for University Accommodation must be submitted via:
- Online enrolment procedure (for exchange students)
- Online admission procedure (for degree students)
Moving In
Autumn semester: 25–31 August
Spring semester: will be updated
The Accommodation Officer will provide a moving-in schedule and the address to first-year students who have been allocated a place and paid their deposit by the deadline.
Important Information
- Due to limited dormitory capacity, it is unfortunately not possible to allocate University accommodation to all students.
- Successful applicants will be notified by 10 July whether they have been assigned a place in a student dormitory.
- Coordinate your arrival date with the Accommodation Officer.
- Late arrival? Please make sure you inform the Accommodation Officer in advance.
- If you are not allocated University-managed accommodation, you can arrange housing independently through other institutions or private rentals.

Accommodation in Kaunas

Accommodation in Kaunas: Your Options as a Vilnius University Student
Students of the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University are offered residence in the dormitories of other educational institutions. For international students studying in Kaunas, there are two main avenues to explore: applying for dormitories at other universities or colleges in Kaunas, or opting for private accommodation.
Dormitory Options
1) Dormitory No. 1, address: Taikos pr. 121, Kaunas
Room prices:
- block room with amenities – from 135 Eur/month to 155 Eur/month (15 Eur/day);
- double room – from 130 Eur/month to 140 Eur/month (15 Eur/day).
For a monthly fee, students receive all the furniture assigned to their room (bed, wardrobe, cabinet, table, and chair). The dormitory also offers other services that residents can use:
- laundry services – 3 Eur for washing, 2 Eur for drying;
- bed linen rental – 20 Eur/month (bed linen is changed twice a month).
Also, if inventory is available and the student requests it, he or she can rent equipment and household appliances for their room:
- one-off 20 Eur fee for purchasing a set of tableware (cup, plate, and cutlery);
- 10 Eur/month refrigerator rental;
- 5 Eur/month microwave rental;
- 2 Eur/month kettle rental.
Students must also pay a 200 Eur deposit (which is refundable upon termination of the contract) and a 20 Eur fee for the issuance of a room key and access card. Students who wish to change rooms must pay a 20 Eur administration fee if they change rooms more than once during the academic year. During the summer, if a student does not live in the dormitory but wishes to keep their room reserved, a fee of 40 Eur/month applies. 2) The Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Centre Dormitory, address: Jonavos str. 178, Kaunas.
Room prices:
- one student per room – €210.00/month (€7.00/day);
- two students per room – €120.00/month (€4.00/day) each;
- three students per room – €90.00/month (€3.00/day) each.
