What should I do if I am unable to participate in the midterm exam?

If you are unable to attend the midterm assessment at the scheduled time due to illness or other important reasons, you must agree with the lecturer and the head of the academic department on another time for the assessment.

What should I do if I am unable to attend the final exam?

If you are unable to attend the final assessment of your coursework at the time specified in the schedule due to illness or other important reasons, you may submit a request to the head of the academic department to allow you to take the assessment at another time, but no later than one month after the start of the new semester.

I failed the exam. When will the retake be held?

Exam retakes take place during the first two weeks of the new semester. Retake schedules are published on the VU schedule portal. If the subject assessment has not been announced, contact the lecturer of the subject being retaken or your department's academic advisor.

Will I have to pay to retake the exam?

No, you do not have to pay to retake the exam. You would only have to pay if you failed the retake and needed to clear the subject debt.

What should I do if I disagree with a course grade?

A student who disagrees with the final assessment of a subject has the right to submit a written appeal to the dispute resolution committee of the academic department no later than seven calendar days after the date of publication of the assessment.

Appeals against the final assessment of final exams or final theses cannot be submitted. Students may submit a written appeal to the core academic unit's dispute resolution committee regarding procedural violations in interim assessments, final subject assessment, final exams, or final thesis defense no later than three working days after the interim assessments, final subject assessment, final exam, or final thesis defense, no later than three working days after the interim assessments, final subject assessment, final exam, or final thesis defense.

Suspension of studies

Suspension of studies or academic leave are ways to temporarily pause your studies at the University without terminating them.

Changing your study program

At Vilnius University, students can change their form of study, schedule, program, or choose individual courses at other higher education institutions.

Resumption of studies

If you have been on academic leave, suspended or discontinued your studies and wish to return, you may continue or resume them.

Rotation

During the rotation, the best-performing students can transfer to a state-funded place, while those who do not meet the criteria can lose it.
