Selection for ISEP partial studies for the fall semester of 2026

We invite VU students to participate in the ISEP (International Student Exchange Programmes) exchange programme selection process and spend the fall semester or academic year 2026/2027 at a university in the United States or another country.

Exchange Programmes

VU students can study at foreign universities under various exchange programmes. This is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons, gain international experience, and strengthen your skills.

Erasmus+ programme

Mainų galimybių studentai VU

Erasmus+ offers the opportunity to study at European universities for 1–2 semesters and gain international experience.

The programme offers: a wide network of partners and financial support for travel and living expenses.

Eligible participants: VU bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students with good academic performance and language skills.

ISEP (International Student Exchange Programme)

ISEP allows students to study at universities around the world, not just in Europe.

The programme offers: exchanges in more than 50 countries and helps students integrate into the academic environment.

Eligible participants: VU bachelor's and master's students who speak English.

Nordplus

Nordplus Higher Education supports cooperation between and mobility of students and teachers from Higher Education institutions in Nordic and Baltic countries. 

The programme offers financial support for travel and living expenses.

All VU students who meet the academic requirements are eligible to participate.

Bilateral Agreements

Study exchanges under bilateral agreements allow students to study at universities around the world. Opportunities depend on agreements between VU and its partners, with scholarships offered in some cases. VU students of all levels are eligible to participate, with requirements set out in specific agreements.

ARQUS ir COIMBRA Group

Exchanges between ARQUS and the COIMBRA Group are funded by Erasmus+ programme and should follow Erasmus+ rules, requirements and deadlines.

All full degree-seeking students can participate in Arqus and Coimbra Group student exchange, except in the areas restricted by the partners.

How to apply for a study exchange?

Select a program

  • Review the options (Erasmus+, ISEP, Nordplus, bilateral agreements, Arqus)
  • Check the list of partner universities

Ensure that the selected university allows you to create a study plan that matches your field and level.

Check the requirements

  • Academic progress (average ≥ 8, in some cases ≥ 7)
  • Language skills (foreign language in which subjects are taught)
  • Clear and academically sound motivation
  • Study plan corresponding to your field and level
  • Application deadlines
  • Additional faculty requirements

Preparation and submission of documents to a foreign university

  • Complete the admission document package (documents provided on the foreign university's website or by VU).
  • Sign a study agreement with the faculty ERASMUS coordinator (agree on subjects, 30 ECTS credits per semester).

If necessary, the International Relations Department will organize the sending of documents.

Once you receive an invitation, prepare for departure

  • Fill out an application for a partial study program.
  • Arrange insurance, dormitory fee certificates, and a residence permit.
  • Sign a financial agreement for an ERASMUS+ scholarship or "zero" scholarship status.
