Dr Arnoldas Deltuva, a theorist at the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astronomy of the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University, has been included in the list of distinguished referees for 2025 in “The European Physical Journal”.

This is likely the first time that a scientist working at a Lithuanian scientific institution has been included in this journal’s list.

“It is important to take a critical look at the work being reviewed, especially if something seems too good to be true, and to try to verify it as much as possible. It is often possible to provide authors with constructive suggestions on how to improve their research and its presentation. That is probably why I was singled out as distinguished,” says Dr A. Deltuva.

This and similar lists are intended to thank referees of scientific publications who have made outstanding contributions. The journal has been compiling such a list since 2013. Its editors select reviewers for the list based on the quality, quantity, and timeliness of their reports.

“The European Physical Journal” is a group of 17 journals covering a wide range of topics, from fundamental to applied physics, such as laser, molecular, nuclear, and particle physics. The journal brings together physics societies from 25 European countries.
