An hour with Ratilio

The Folklore Ensemble “Ratilio” invites the Vilnius University community to take a short pause from academic life and, together with its members, immerse themselves in living Lithuanian folklore.

On the occasion of the University’s birthday, the Folklore Ensemble “Ratilio” invites the Vilnius University community to take a short pause from academic life and, together with its members, immerse themselves in living Lithuanian folklore.

In the Great Aula, we will sing traditional songs, perform sutartinės (Lithuanian polyphonic chants), dance, play traditional games, and explore the rich collection of songs compiled by Liudvikas Rėza. We invite you to gather in the Great Aula of Vilnius University and form a shared circle led by the members of 'Ratilio' and joined by all participants.

The event will be held in Lithuanian; however, assistance and translation will be available if needed. We recommend bringing a smart device, as a link to the songbook (PDF format) will be shared, and wearing comfortable footwear suitable for dancing. Please note that the event may be photographed and filmed. The recorded material, including images in which you may appear, may be used for publicity purposes.
