Choosing and coordinating a topic

  • Consider your study program, personal interests, and current research trends. Discuss the suitability of the topic with your lecturers and supervisor.
  • Confirm the topic and work plan.
  • Agree on a consultation schedule and method of communication.

Prepare a work plan

  • Divide the work into stages: literature analysis, research methodology, data collection, analysis, conclusions.
  • Set deadlines and stick to them.

Writing process

  • Use reliable sources of information:

    subject librarian

  • Organize your bibliography from the very beginning.
  • Write your paper in accordance with the requirements: adhere to academic ethics and citation rules.
  • Ensure a clear structure: introduction, theoretical part, research methodology, results, conclusions.
  • Check the formal requirements: make sure that the work meets the standards set by the faculty (length, format, appendices).
  • Ensure that the language is correct and that the technical preparation is in order.

Submission of work

  • Upload your work to the Vilnius University study information system VU IS.
  • There is no need to submit a printed copy of your work or a guarantee to the department.
  • The supervisor's decision to allow the defense of the work is confirmed in VUSIS.
  • The review is sent to the student and the department by email.

Prepare for the presentation and defense

  • Prepare a summary and slides.
  • Practice answering possible questions.
