Vilnius University Signs Memorandum with the Lithuanian Marketing Association

On 5 May, the Rector of Vilnius University (VU), Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, and the Head of the Lithuanian Marketing Association (LiMA), Jurga Varanavičius, signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen mutual cooperation and support the training of marketing professionals.
One of the key objectives of the memorandum is to establish a strong partnership between several VU units – including the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, the Faculty of Communication, and Kaunas Faculty – and the marketing professionals represented by LiMA.
‘I am pleased that this partnership, which brings together the interests of several Vilnius University faculties, will strengthen the marketing community by engaging both practitioners and academics, fostering dialogue, and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and expertise. This will help ensure that our academic programmes remain relevant and aligned with market needs,’ said VU Rector Prof. Petrauskas.

The memorandum also seeks to involve VU students in the activities of the marketing community, offering them opportunities to meet potential employers, build valuable networks, and expand their career prospects while still studying at the University.
‘We are consistently working to attract more talented young people to the marketing profession, and partnerships with leading Lithuanian higher education institutions, including Vilnius University, create even greater opportunities to pursue this goal together. This year, LiMA will launch a new project – the ‘Student Visa’ – opening our doors even wider to students and sharing our experience in digital marketing. I believe that the memorandum signed with VU will mark the beginning of a meaningful, dynamic, and long-term partnership that will support LiMA’s mission of strengthening the prestige of the marketing profession and further enhancing the competencies of specialists in this field,’ said Jurga Varanavičius, Head of LiMA.
The parties also plan to collaborate on research and project-based initiatives, as well as organise various activities, including hackathons, competitions, and practical workshops, aimed at promoting careers in marketing. The memorandum provides opportunities for students to undertake internships at LiMA.
The memorandum of understanding will remain in force for five years.
