International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence

The Master in International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence is a full-time, English-taught programme offering specialised academic education in Cybersecurity, Cyberintelligence, and International Law for Cybersecurity. Delivered jointly by four leading European universities – Granada (Spain), Minho (Portugal), Padua (Italy), and Vilnius (Lithuania) – the programme combines physical mobility between campuses with virtual, blended, and local learning, providing a truly international and immersive educational experience.

  • Graduates of the Master's program in International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence are able to analyze information in the field of cybersecurity, conduct specialized evaluations, and determine its usefulness for intelligence purposes. They are capable of performing denial and deception operations, as well as collecting and utilizing cybersecurity data for intelligence generation. Graduates can investigate cyber incidents or crimes related to IT systems, networks, or digital evidence. The acquired knowledge in technical maintenance, administration, and support enables them to ensure efficient and secure operation of IT systems. They are also able to lead processes, develop them strategically, and ensure that an organization can effectively carry out cybersecurity activities. Additionally, graduates can analyze and assess threats to internal IT systems or networks, conceptualize, design, and deploy secure IT systems, and responsibly manage all aspects of their development.
Entry qualification

 Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (180 ECTS).
  • Students regulated by the Bologna Framework who are in the final year of their studies may submit a signed statement, committing to provide the diploma before the registration deadline.

Technology Competence

Accredited Technology Competence must be demonstrated by meeting one of the following criteria:

  • A degree in an IT-related program (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Informatics, Software Engineering).
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the IT field.
  • Equivalence to 3 years of training on IT topics.

English Proficiency

  • Minimum accredited level of proficiency in English: B2.

     

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English.

Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Accepted proof of proficiency: FCE or CAE, IELTS 6+ or TOEFL 79+

Other requirements

Please be advised that the Master’s Programme in International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence requires mobility across multiple countries as part of its unique structure. While the programme coordination team will assist in facilitating the necessary administrative processes for mobility, it is ultimately the responsibility of each student to manage their relocations and ensure their attendance at the respective universities for each semester.

Participation in all scheduled classes in the designated countries is essential to successfully complete the programme. We recommend planning ahead to ensure a smooth transition between locations.

Specific requirements for EU/EEA applicants:
 

  • Please be aware that drafts documents are not valid, you need to upload formal transcripts and/or diploma.
  • If you are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree, make sure that you will be able to provide all final documentation before September 5.
  • If your documents are in another language other than English you need certified translation.

When choosing a study programme, consider whether the subjects match your interests and strengths, as this will keep you motivated. You should also think about career opportunities, costs, and whether the programme fits your long-term goals.

Keep in mind that each applicant can choose up to three study programmes in one application, but you can only get admitted to one programme.

Check the application dates

There are two calls for application. The same process will be followed for the acceptance of applicants in both calls.

Check your eligibility and prepare the necessary documents

In the first phase, applicants should first fulfil the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. (180 ECTS)
    • Students who are regulated by the Bologna Framework and are in the last year of their studies can submit a signed statement with the commitment to provide the diploma before the registration deadline.
  • Accredited Technology Competence, given by any of the following criteria:
    • Degree in IT-related programme (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Informatics, Software Engineering); or
    • 2 years of professional experience in the IT field; or
    • Equivalence to 3 years of training on IT topics.
  • Minimum accredited level of proficiency in English: B2.

(2) In the second phase, a certain number of students will be selected for an interview to secure access to the programme. The ranking will be based on indicators such as academic record, English proficiency, and experience in the sector. The following criteria will be applied to select the accepted candidates during the interview:

  • Communication skills
  • Expertise in technology
  • Motivation for the programme
  • Workgroup ability
  • Academic achievements

Pay the application fee and submit your application

The Arqus application platform will open once the final application deadlines are announced. In any case, the application fees for our joint master’s programme are set at 30 Euros for EU citizens. Non-EU nationals interested in the joint programme will need to pay an application fee of 100 Euros.

Take the interview

In the second phase, a certain number of students will be selected for an interview to secure access to the programme. The ranking will be based on indicators such as academic record, English proficiency, and experience in the sector. The following criteria will be applied to select the accepted candidates during the interview:

  • Communication skills
  • Expertise in technology
  • Motivation for the programme
  • Workgroup ability
  • Academic achievements

Confirm the acceptance and pay the tuition fee

Those students shortlisted by the selection committee after the interview will be informed and will have a period to formally register – which is done through the University of Granada as the coordinating university of the master’s degree.

Cybersecurity – From Analysis to Leadership

Graduates of the Master’s program in Cybersecurity can analyze and evaluate cybersecurity information, collect data for intelligence purposes, and investigate incidents or crimes related to IT systems, networks, and digital evidence. They acquire technical knowledge in IT system maintenance, administration, and operation, and can design, deploy, and maintain secure information systems, assess threats to internal systems and networks, and lead processes to develop organizational cybersecurity activities. Graduates are prepared to make independent decisions, apply technologies, and manage security infrastructure efficiently and responsibly.
