I chose VU MF because of all the wonderful opportunities this university has to offer. The Integrated program itself is unique in comparison to all others. The professors are wonderful and are available to answer all your questions and concerns. The city of Vilnius is vibrant and welcoming with a growing number of people visiting and touring the area daily. Most importantly it is a safe environment, constantly thriving and booming. Whether you choose to do some studying in the national library during the daytime or just looking to enjoy the nightlife in Vilniaus gatve, all these experiences and more are worth exploring.

I came to Lithuania as a refugee from the war, I faced many difficulties at the beginning: a new country, not knowing what would happen next and all this not by my choice, but because of the circumstances. But I entered Vilnius University, which gave me a certain confidence, a sense of comfort, a feeling that I am in my place. The university helped me integrate and open up in a new society. I have a lot of opportunities here to develop myself. And I am very grateful to Vilnius University for this. Because Vilnius University helped me to flourish and shine in spite of any circumstances. I always wanted exposure to the international study environment, which came true while studying at Vilnius University. My experience as a science student has been quite informative and academic. The life sciences centre is the hub for all the biology-related science students open for opportunities to work in the laboratory with their desired interest in master thesis topic. 

To connect with “The Baltic Way” by speaking up about the determination, this campus is one of the oldest in Eastern Europe. It tells the history of nations who live among great powers. Thanks to the expertise of its professors and administrators, here you can feel how connecting the cultural heritage with meaningful political transformations led to resilience after more than three decades of continuous work. It helped me to learn more about the democratic transition in East-Central European countries and the Baltic region with expansion in the political economy. Adaptability and flexibility to study and find a way of living are something you will learn on this journey. 

I chose to pursue my PhD in Biochemistry at the Life Sciences Center of Vilnius University because of its outstanding reputation in cutting-edge research and innovation in the life sciences. The university's state-of-the-art facilities and the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned faculty members promise a fertile ground for my academic and research ambitions. Vilnius University's collaborative environment, bridging various disciplines within the life sciences, aligns perfectly with my desire to contribute to meaningful scientific discoveries. Moreover, the vibrant academic community and the support for doctoral candidates make it an ideal setting for my professional growth and for pushing the boundaries of what is known in the field of biochemistry.

My dream of studying medicine in an international environment came true in Vilnius. I consider VU to be a place of almost endless possibilities. The personal and close contact with my teachers and professors has ensured it is a memorable experience.

For me, the 7/24 library facility is one of the best things at VU, since this wasn’t available in Cyprus . The traffic rules are well-obeyed in Lithuania, compared to those in my home and birth countries. The working hours are also less in Lithuania, which may not always be a good thing.

Studying International Business has given me the opportunity to meet many people from different countries and cultures. One of my favourite parts about studying at Vilnius University is the 24/7 access to the library.

Everything here has been great. Getting used to a different culture and language is always a challenge, but I’m enjoying it. Getting out of my comfort zone was what I wanted to achieve by coming here.

VU is the best university for a law student, like me! I can find many materials in the VU library’s modern building and can even study there 24/7. The professors are intelligent and give us the necessary information we need for our future careers!

I am enjoying my studies at VU. The professors are knowledgeable and approachable, and the library is open 24/7, unlike in Malawi. In Lithuania, the internet is high-speed and affordable. In the winter, there is snow. However, Malawi has more sunny days and mountains.

Studying abroad isn’t easy; coping with new environments and cultures is challenging. But I have always had the desire to study abroad, and VU was one of the best decisions I made. It has a very comfortable system and way of teaching. Professors are always ready to help and share their knowledge. Being an international student at VU will never be a regret.
