In the golden waves of rye and the clouds grazing over the blue meadow. In the blue of the cornflowers blooming on the horizon. She echoes in the lyrics of songs learned in childhood and in the steps of dance. What we hold so dearly within ourselves begins to resonate together.

This concert is about freedom – a freedom that transcends time, language, and boundaries, yet belongs to everyone.

During the concert, the Lithuanian program will feature works by Zita Bružaitė, Vytautas Juozapaitis, Juozas Gumauskas, Jonas Švedas, Gintaras Vilčiauskas, Vidas Aleksandravičius, the ensemble’s artistic director Eugenijus Čiplys, and choir director Dovilė Mačiukaitė-Krasauskienė. We will see choreography by Laimutė Kisielienė, Tamara Kalibataitė, and ensemble directors Albertas Švelginas and Indrė Alaburdienė. The second part of the concert will be dedicated to Ukrainian folk music, song, and dance, performed by guests from Lviv. On stage, we will hear works of, Mykola Husar, Bohdan Derevianko, Jaroslav Barnych, Yevhen Kozak, Anatolii Avdievskyi, Volodymyr Ivasiuk, Vasyl Chuchman, Mykola Kubyk, Volodymyr Yatsola, Tetiana Kohut, Bohdan Stelmakh, Ihor Bilozir. We will see choreography by Pylyp Sekh, Vasyl Pipash, Oleh Goldrych and Yaroslav Chuperchuk.

Performers: Vilnius University Song and Dance Ensemble (Artistic director Eugenijus Čiplys) and “Cheremosh” Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Artistic director Tetyana Kohut).

The event is organized by the Vilnius University Song and Dance Ensemble and the Vilnius University Cultural Center. The event partner is Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

Concert time: October 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. 
Concert venue: Dance Theater, 11 T. Kosciuškos St., Vilnius. 
Concert duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the event without disruption, we kindly ask parents and guardians to help keep noise to a minimum. If the little ones start making noise, please step out of the hall for a moment and return once they have calmed down. Thank you for your understanding.

The event venue is accessible to people with mobility impairments. The Dance Theater is accessible via a ramp.

There will be no box office at the venue, but it will be possible to conveniently purchase tickets by scanning the QR code on-site. However, make sure to get your tickets in advance and purchase them online. Tickets are available through kakava.lt.
