On 19th December 2023, the series “Doing business in…” will continue with a session devoted to the opportunities offered to entrepreneurs and start-up companies by the city of Graz. The event will be held in English, from 14.00h to 15.00h CET via Zoom. Join the session here.

University city, City of Design, research hub, cultural capital – its diversity makes the city of Graz unique as a business location. Approximately 60,000 students interact with local world market leaders, a vibrant start-up scene blends with the bustling creative community, and UNESCO World Heritage sites meet renowned research facilities. As the economic engine of Styria, Graz propels a federal state that ranks among the most innovative business locations in all of Europe, with a research and development (R&D) rate of 5%.

In defined focus areas encompassing mobility, human and biotechnology, energy and environmental technology, microelectronics, tourism, and the creative economy, businesses, research institutions, clusters, and the city of Graz collectively provide valuable momentum for the location. It’s no wonder that Graz records a significant increase in business startups, employment figures, and population annually.

The startup & Innovation Hub “Unicorn” on the Campus of the University of Graz is the heart of the start-up scene in Graz and can guide you through your first steps into the ISLYE ecosystem (International Soft Landing for Young Entrepreneurs), the mobility program of the Arqus University Alliance for young entrepreneurs. In this workshop, you will learn the basics about the different partner universities and the mobility requirements for the ISLYE program, which will help you to internationalize your business idea.
