For the Second Time in a Row, VU Business School Students Are the Winners of an International Virtual Team Project

Mentored by lecturer dr. Eigirdas Žemaitis, students of VU Business School from the International Business programme took part in an international project „Virtual Business Professional“. Alongside with participants from all around the globe, students worked in teams on real customer projects for six weeks.

A total of 14 educational institutions from Finland, France, Germany, India, Lithuania, Spain and the USA have participated. 530 participants, who came from more than 40 different countries, were teamed up to work on projects from such huge companies as „Google“, „Starbucks“ and „Audi“.

The winning strategy of market entry for „Audi“ belongs to the team of Ida Sinisalo, and the second place went to the team of Dovydas Stasytis. In the category of „Starbucks“, the winning team had VU Business School Erasmus student from Spain - Noelia Raquel Macias Silva. In the category of „Google“, the 3rd place was won by the group of Matthis Gruel.

“It is gratifying that the students of VU Business School, together with Erasmus students, have been so successful in this complex intercultural project for the second year in a row. The current context proves that working in virtual teams is taking on an increasingly important meaning. And this also proves once again, that studying at the Business School allows you to acquire important competencies and skills that are realistically applicable in life. We are thankful to our lecturer dr. Eigirdas Žemaitis for the initiative, involvement and such excellent participation of students under his leadership in the project“ – says dr.
