Sukurta: 19 September 2022

Hck4educationHackathon “Hack4Education“ was held on 13-15th. September brought together around 70 participants from Vilnius University, University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn University and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

The uniqueness of this hackathon was in its focus on the participants’ entrepreneurial spirit and mindset. While solving real-life challenges presented by business companies operating in the Baltic countries, the event participants developed their idea development skills to finally form an argument for the value propositions for the suggested solutions.

Participants worked in international teams, were mentored by professionals in their fields, and also had great opportunities to dwell on keynote speeches on entrepreneurship-related topics. Finally, seven interdisciplinary and international teams pitched their suggested solutions for the selected business company’s challenges to the jury.

The “Think For Future (TFF)” team won the main prize – tickets to the most startup-minded business festival in Baltics “sTARTUp Day 2023”. The team took the company’s “Gateway&Partners” challenge - to engage every employee of the company in the lifelong learning process. “TFF” team pitched a multi-sided platform for the integration of new employees, which also included the development of employee competencies, involving them in projects, alongside vital employee feedback and motivating bonus aspects. This team was formed from eight students from Tallinn University and the University of Tartu, who study business administration, IT law and educational innovation and leadership programs.

Hackathon “Hack4Education“ was inspired by European Institute of Innovation and Technology project “Unicorn”  and co-organized by Vilnius University, University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn University, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and TECNALIA Research & Innovation.
