In Vilnius, the Launch of a New Analytical Journal on Communicative Influences Will Take Place
On 1 December at 4 p.m., the Statehood Room (237) of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania in Vilnius will host the launch of the new analytical journal „Journal of Communication Influences“, followed by a discussion with the journal’s authors and experts in communication and propaganda studies. The publication has been prepared by the Centre for Communication Influences and Propaganda Research at Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Communication.
The launch will feature a discussion with the journal’s authors and experts in communication and propaganda, including Assoc. Prof. Viktor Denisenko, Head of the Centre for Communication Influences and Propaganda Research at Vilnius University Faculty of Communication, Dr Kiryl Kascian, Senior Researcher at the Centre, and Emilija Kilinskaitė, Counsellor for Strategic Communications at Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Nerijus Maliukevičius from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at VU.
The „Journal of Communication Influences“ focuses on analysing current communication processes, aims to share insights on disinformation, propaganda, the role of artificial intelligence in communication, and more. The journal is intended for both professionals and the general public, presenting analytical information in an accessible way and encouraging discussions.
“We live in a world shaped by communication influences, where information can form opinions, drive decisions, or even trigger crises. A careless statement can turn into a major political scandal, while the manipulation of certain topics may lead to unexpected consequences. The journal aims to explore communication processes from multiple perspectives, seeking a deeper understanding of our information environment and its impact on society. Our goal is to bring analytical and expert knowledge closer to the public and foster meaningful discussions, reaching both Lithuanian and international audiences,” says Assoc. Prof. V. Denisenko, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief and Head of the Centre for Communication Influences and Propaganda Research at VU Faculty of Communication.
The event will be held in English.
Participation is free of charge, but seating is limited – registration is required.
