Article illustrationThe Bioethics Program of Union Graduate College and Mount Sinai Medical School in partnership with the Department of Medical Ethics at Vilnius University is once again welcoming applications for its Advanced Certificate Program in Research Ethics for Central and Eastern Europe. This Program is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health – Fogarty International Center.

The Program, which is fully supported by scholarships, consists of 7 graduate courses taken over a 16-month period. With the exception of some short seminars in Vilnius, most of the courses are on-line so that fellows will not have to disrupt their professional and personal lives. In the past, students have come from the fields of medicine, science, public health, philosophy, and law.

Scholarships for Advanced Certificate in Research Ethics cover tuition, transportation to on-site seminars, room and board during on-site seminars, books, computer-based educational materials and software, and computer support. The application for the program could also be downloaded here.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is April 1, 2009. One week introductory seminar to the program starts on July 13, 2009 in Vilnius. Applicants chosen for the Program will be notified by May 15, 2009.
