In the world of contemporary academic music, few names are as prominent as Philip Glass. His avant-garde compositions defy convention, transcend musical boundaries and challenge our very perception of sound. One of his most captivating works, “Songs from Liquid Days“, draws listeners into an enchanting journey through time and emotions.

“Songs from Liquid Days” is not just an album – it is an adventure of sounds. This ground-breaking collection of songs, written in 1985, showcases Glass's uncanny ability to combine classical minimalism with elements of pop and world music. This is a testament to his artistic genius for skilfully combining genres to create a timeless and unique sound, as he explores the fluidity of human existence. The composer has collaborated with a range of influential artists, i.e. David Byrne, Laurie Anderson, Paul Simon and Suzanne Vega, to create a series of poignant songs touching on the themes of love, life and the ever-changing nature of our world. Each song is a tapestry of emotions, painting vivid portraits of human experience.
