The Coins 2022 International Conference Invites to Immerse into the Scientific Experience

MicrosoftTeams image 2The Student Representation of Vilnius University (VU SA) is organizing the international life sciences conference “The COINS 2022” for the 16th time, which will take place virtually from February 28 to March 3. The conference annually attracts students, leading Lithuanian and foreign scientists, including Nobel Laureates, and all those interested in life sciences. In addition, students will be able to present and listen to other students’ research papers.

The VU SA team organizing the conference invites the public to immerse themselves in scientific experience, discuss, learn and share ideas with experts and enjoy an exciting program. Furthermore, the conference participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions where they will give lectures by foreign scientists on neuroscience, astrobiology, the future of life sciences, and engineering.

On the first day of the conference will be held lectures about neurosciences with scientists from the USA: Prof. Dr. Richard J. Youle and Prof. Dr. A. James Hudspeth. Also, the discussions will attend Professor from Israel, Prof. Dr. Michal Schwartz, and alumni from Vilnius University, Neuroscientist at the University of Oslo – Dr. Laura Bojarskaitė.

On the second day, people are welcome to listen to lectures about astrobiology. Lecturers will be professors from the United Kingdom, Dr. Charles Cockell, Dr. Armando Azua-Bustos, and Dr. Daniel Angerhausen.

The third day’s program is planned lectures about the future of life sciences with scientists Dr. Alexander George Batemann, Prof. Dr. Regina Barzilay and Prof. Dr. David Baker.

The last day’s lectures will be an opportunity to attend a lecture with the CEO of European Molecular Biology Laboratory Edith Heard and, later on, the talk with Nobel Prize Winner Sir Fraser Stoddart.

Also, there is a separate program for students from high school in the Lithuanian language. Its’ goal is to let students learn about the newest scientific news and opportunities.

The COINS 2022 conference will be held in English on a virtual conferencing platform from February 28 to March 3.
