50975572703 ba9d4b3d29 cVilnius University Students’ Representation invites Arqus Alliance students to participate in the virtual 16th Life Sciences International Conference “The COINS 2022” on February 28th- March 3rd. The conference, which brings together well-known scientists and even Nobel prize winners, invites students from Arqus alliance universities to participate free of charge.

As the past couple of years were rocked with the covid pandemic, many conferences had to be postponed, which meant students were presented with fewer opportunities to share their research. Thus we are thrilled to provide an amazing chance to do it during the last days of this winter at the virtual “The COINS 2022” conference.

The event organized by students of Vilnius University aims to spread the news and science to other students and society. Every year well-known scientists from Europe and USA are gathered, during the last three years, six Nobel prize winners have attended the conference: Professors Harald Zur Hausen, Erwin Neher, Ada Yonath, John O’Keefe, Jean-Marie Lehn, and Aaron Ciechanover. This year, we are very excited to have professors R. Youle, A. Hudspeth, M. Schwartz, D. Baker, C. Cockell, R. Barzilay, EMBL director-general E. Heard and many others.

A significant part of “The COINS” conference is poster sessions. It is an excellent opportunity for young scientists to present their research projects to colleagues and get valuable feedback from professionals in their fields. Therefore this year, for the first time, five students from each university of Arqus European University Alliance are invited to participate free of charge in poster sessions by presenting their works in these fields: Astrobiology; Biochemistry; Bioinformatics; Biology; Biomedicine; Biotechnology; Cell Biology; Genetics; Immunology; Microbiology; Molecular biology; (Neuro)biophysics.

We also provide a perfect opportunity for four participants in total to present their research projects in astrobiology or bioinformatics live on stage. These oral presentations for the ARQUS alliance universities students are also free of charge.

We will prioritize attending the sessions for those students from each university who will be the first to register, and their works will meet the requirements.

“The COINS 2022” will be held on virtual conference platform www.gather.town in 2022, from February 28th until March 3rd.

You can find all the requirements, evaluation protocol, guidelines, and deadlines here.

Sign up for poster sessions here and oral presentations here.

Note: When registering, in the section “Ticket Number”, please enter the following code: The- COINS-2022-ARQUS-Your University’s initials (e.g., Vilnius University - VU). This code will be valid for the first five students from each university. After this quota is met, we kindly invite everyone to register and participate in the presentation sessions without Arqus alliance assistance. Registration is open until February 14th.
