Vilnius University Invites to Participate in the Science Communication Competition “Science Sprint”
On the 1st of April, the day of the 443rd anniversary of Vilnius University (VU), a science communication competition “Science Sprint” will take place. The competitors will have to present their research or science idea in 3 minutes. The authors of the best presentations will be rewarded with cash prizes.
The participants should compose a team of one student of any academic level and one lecturer or research associate. Both the students and the lecturers and research associates can initiate composing the team.
10 teams will be selected to participate in the competition. The teams will get the opportunity to learn public speaking from the actress Aldona Vilutytė.
The competition “Science Sprint” will take place on the 1st of April, 18:00, at the Paviljonas venue (Pylimo st. 21B).
The participants will have up to 3 minutes to present their research or a scientific idea or process that fascinates them. The presentations will be evaluated by a commission comprising academic and media representatives who will take into account the relevance of a research or idea, clarity of presentation, and ability to speak about science in a fun way. Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes.
