This is the best result the university has achieved since the ranking was started five years ago. Vilnius University received 84.6 out of 100 points, compared to last year’s 81.4. This is the highest evaluation a Lithuanian university has ever received in this ranking.

Student-faculty ratio has improved the most by claiming extra 10.7 points, followed by citations per paper that received 6.3 points more than last tear. Compared to 2017 ranking, Vilnius University improved almost all publication indicators analysed by the EECA. The largest growth in publication numbers was noted in Arts & Humanities – 73.3 percent, followed by social sciences and management at 38.19 percent growth.

EECA ranks universities in Eastern and Central Europe, as well as in Central Asia. The same data is used to create this ranking as in the global QS World University Rankings. The only difference – indicator weights are modified and new indicators are added, such as the number of academics holding a doctorate, the university’s internet visibility, and the frequency of citations of scientific works. Last year VU placed 18th in this ranking.
