Vilnius University (VU) invites pupils and anyone interested in studying to take part in its traditional event “Student for a Day” taking place from 20 to 24 October. Participants will have a unique opportunity to explore VU’s study programmes, University spaces, and vibrant community, as well as to experience what it is like to be a student.

They will also be able to join lectures, seminars, and special sessions across 15 VU faculties in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Šiauliai. Activities will take place both on campus and online, with sessions offered in Lithuanian and English. During the event, participants will learn about the available study programmes and their content and have the chance to meet lecturers and current students.

This year’s “Student for a Day” offers over 400 sessions to choose from. Attendees can hear practical tips on how to master the writing tasks in the national English exam, learn how to select the right study field and discover what makes it unique, and explore topics such as sustainable nutrition, artificial intelligence, and language diversity. Participants will also have a chance to take part in an experiential lecture-tour introducing public health studies or become an assistant for a day at the Applied Biocatalysis Laboratory. In addition, the VU Culture Centre welcomes everyone to join theatre improvisation sessions and folk ensemble rehearsals, while the VU Health and Sport Center will host an educational session on movement awareness.

More than just a series of lectures, “Student for a Day” offers a glimpse into life at VU: the study environment, academic staff, and student community. This event provides the opportunity to learn more about the study programmes attendees find interesting and to discover new ones, thereby supporting participants in choosing the most suitable study path at VU.

Prospective participants are encouraged to register responsibly – due to limited capacity, it is recommended to choose no more than five sessions. All activities are scheduled in Lithuanian time. The registration link can be found here.
