On 8 September, Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, Rector of Vilnius University (VU), signed a support agreement with Nerijus Nedzinskas, Head of the business consulting and audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The purpose of this agreement is to support the most outstanding students of the VU Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the Faculty of Law by awarding them named scholarships.

‘Partnerships between the University and businesses represent meaningful collaboration, offering students greater opportunities to gain valuable practical experience and knowledge, while also encouraging companies to engage actively in the study process. It is particularly exciting that from now on, even more students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the Faculty of Law will be eligible for PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholarships,’ said VU Rector Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas.

The scholarships will be available to 4th-semester students in Accounting and Audit, Economics and Finance, Management, Business and Law, and Business Information Systems at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, as well as 6th-semester students of the integrated full-time Law programme at the Faculty of Law.

‘Our long-standing partnership with PwC is of great value to us, as it directly contributes to the academic and professional growth of our students. Motivation plays a key role in every student’s professional development, and this motivation can come not only from teaching staff but also from businesses seeking to nurture emerging professionals. Scholarships, internships, and guest lectures provide our students with opportunities to achieve the highest learning outcomes, discover their potential from the early years of study, and gain hands-on experience in a real business environment. This builds their confidence and helps them take the first solid steps toward their professional careers,’ said Assist. Prof. Dr Gediminas Rumšas, Vice-Dean for Partnerships and Projects at the VU Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

The scholarship is awarded for one semester; it is granted to third-year students selected at the beginning of the 5th semester with a weighted average grade of at least 8, who actively participate in academic or community activities. In addition to academic results, the applicant’s motivation and clarity of career goals are also considered during the selection process. The application deadline is 20 September. Applications should be submitted through the VU Student Information System.

Students wishing to apply should submit the following required documents: a free-form application, a short motivation letter, a description of activities, and supporting documents or references. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their strengths and establish connections with one of the largest international audit, tax, and business consulting firms.
