“Lithuania does not have a deep tradition of gender-related research methods, but they are crucial to researching the history of everyday, human sexuality in Soviet times and now, trying to understand motherhood and fatherhood, the adequacy of gynecological services, and the portrayal of all these themes in literature. I often get complaints from Master's and PhD students about the lack of this type of lectures and seminars at our university. That pushed me to tap into the expertise of MotherNet’s international participants working in this field and thus fill this gap, at least a little,” said Eglė Kačkutė, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University.

One-to-one consultations – a unique opportunity to discuss research methods, accesses, individual chapters, or sources. Dr Redmond will, in turn, be able to read and comment on individual parts of the research being carried out, the next steps, and, if the research is close to being completed, the possibilities for publication.

The workshop will take place in the Greimas Auditorium of the Faculty of Philology on 25-26 August from 10 am to 1 pm (with a break), with individual consultations from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Mandatory pre-registration by email:

The workshop is organized by the Faculty of Philology’s group Reflecting on Motherhood and the Faculty of History’s group Research on Sexuality.

MotherNet is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Twinning Facility (project No 952366).
