Internal Study Quality Assurance and Enhancement
Internal study quality assurance at the University is implemented by involving all main processes of study quality improvement – from planning and implementation to continuous evaluation and enhancement. Internal study quality assurance is overseen by the Senate of the University and the councils of core academic units.
Role of Study Programme Committees
Responsibility for ensuring the quality of study programmes and their continuous improvement lies with the Study Programme Committees, which operate in accordance with the Regulations of Study Programme Committees. The Committee consists of academic staff delivering the programme, social partner(s), and student representative(s). The SPC is accountable to the council of the core academic unit and reports to it on the implementation of the study programme at least once per year.
Discussion and Decision-Making
Discussions with University students and academic staff take place regarding possibilities for improving studies; these are also discussed at meetings of the Senate, Rectorate, vice-deans for studies and other bodies. Heads of units use collected study information when making decisions on the planning and implementation of activities. For Study Programme Committees, internal study quality assessment information is useful for planning programme improvements. For academic staff and students, this information is relevant for improving the quality of teaching and learning.
Planning of Study Quality Enhancement
In order to ensure systematic improvement of study quality, study field enhancement plans are prepared and their implementation is monitored.
