Development of Academic Staff Competences

Development of Academic Staff Competences

The Educational Competences Centre coordinates and administers the development and implementation of the system for the development and recognition of pedagogical competences and organizes activities to develop pedagogical competences.

Development of pedagogical competences of University academic staff includes several main activities:

The aim of these activities is to promote the professional development of academic staff, improve teaching quality, and create conditions for the continuous implementation of innovations at the University.

Dissemination of Good Teaching Practice

Dissemination of good teaching practice is carried out in various ways – from sharing good practices of academic staff in digital channels to events dedicated to the dissemination of information.

MS Teams Channel

A dedicated MS Teams channel “Educational Competences Centre Seminars” has been created for this activity. Through this channel, approximately 40% of the University’s academic staff are reached.

In the channel:

  • information about training and other relevant activities is published;
  • events are streamed and recordings are made available;
  • presentation materials are shared;
  • a forum for academic staff is maintained for questions, sharing experiences and relevant information.

Events and Initiatives

An annual event “Let’s Celebrate Creativity: Educational Initiatives” is also organised, during which academic staff present projects they have implemented aimed at applying active teaching methods and increasing student engagement.

Recognition of Academic Staff

Dissemination and recognition of good teaching practice are also implemented by selecting and publicly recognising the best academic staff of the year.
