The European Union Structural Assistance Using External and Internal Audit. Prof. V. Lakis. 20112013.

On the basis of performed investigation factors influencing the reliability of financial statements were presented. All the factors could be defined as internal and external. Internal factors comprise the employees’ skills in creating added value, the system and policy of accounting. External factors can be defined as economic, social and technical ones. In evaluation of economic factors they could be considered as cyclical, spontaneous and permanent. The company’s asset value can either increase or decrease depending on the phase of economic cycle. Social factors are influenced by wars, revolutions and strikes. The impact of such phenomena on company’s performance and results is difficult to evaluate. Technical factors can influence the company’s performance because of the cutting-edge technology used in the production process. The results of investigation were presented at the international conference which was organized by the Department of Accounting and Auditing.

The Evaluation of Lithuania’s Business Changes Influencing Factors, for Seeking Competitive Advantage in the Integrated Market. Prof. M. Kučinskienė. 20112015.

Research and evaluation on Lithuanian economy activities – tourism, insurance and others activities distinguished the main driving forces for national economic growth. Research analyzed the main trends of Lithuanian tourism strategic planning: integrated analysis at vertical and horizontal levels, methodological overview, using professional contention and implementation of strategic expedient development tools. Activities, related with insurance consider investigation about the consumers’ behaviour in relation to the insurance service industry.

In the context of the factors affecting the external and internal organization environment, remuneration for work is understood rather narrowly and insufficiently straight, whereas the theoretical models and the application thereof is incompatible with the modern requirements set for remuneration for work in business organizations.

Mixed Economy in Lithuania in the Context of European Integration and Globalization. Prof. R. Lazutka . 2011–2015.

Research based on the factor analysis of 12 variables confirmed the main differences between two forms of capitalism at opposite extremes: Liberal Market Economies and Coordinated Market Economies (CME). Moreover, CME is more supportive according to the human development rankings. Theoretical and practical aspects of prohibited agreements among competitors are explored; statistical analysis of cases of international cartels is carried out. Research was conducted at the intersection of theoretical economics and population health.

National Research Projects

Research Council of Lithuania. Challenges to Social Insurance: Interaction of Generations, Genders, Economic and Social Strata. 20102013.

The changes in demographic, economic and labour market contexts shape the key development indicators of the Lithuanian social insurance system. Therefore solutions of the problems within these contexts would solve financial problems of the Lithuanian Social Insurance Fund without major institutional reforms in the system itself. The balance of social insurance contributions and benefits can be maintained only by a rapid increase in labour force participation level and productivity growth. Therefore the key to the social security’s financial problems essentially is within its environment.

Examples include: estimation of poverty, inequality and redistribution statistics under actual conditions, previous or future tax-benefit rules, budgetary effects, effects of simple tax-benefit policy reforms, indicators of work incentives etc.
