Vilnius University has 11 Faculties, Life Sciences Centre, Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Business School, Šiauliai Academy (since 01 January 2021), one of the oldest Libraries in Lithuania, the Astronomical Observatory, the Botanical Garden, Centre of Information Technology Development, and two hospitals. In 2020, there were 19 293 students at the University, 12 513 of them in undergraduate studies, 3 561 in graduate studies, and 3 219 in integrated studies. There were 836 MDs in residency and 809 doctoral students. Research and teaching is carried out by 2 878 specialists, 2 129 of them teachers, 749 scholars, including 1 945 habilitated doctors and doctors.
