Josadaitė Chana
Chana Josadaitė was born on 20 September 1919 in Kalvarija, into the family of Mauša Josadė and Ester Feigė Josadienė-Skaždinaitė. In 1936, she was admitted to the fifth form of a private Jewish gymnasium in Kaunas, with instruction in Lithuanian, which she finished in 1940. She received a graduation certificate for finishing an eight-form gymnasium. On 10 August 1940, Chana applied to the Vytautas Magnus University to study in the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and started her studies on 1 September 1940. When the university was moved to Vilnius, Chana moved to the capital. In her third year of studies, on 19 September 1941, Chana Josadaitė was expelled from the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius University on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the Nazis. She was killed during the Holocaust.
