Arqus Doctoral Summer School on Migration Studies to Take Place in Granada

The University of Granada invites Arqus doctoral students to take part in the sixth international summer school “The Stages of Migration: An Interdisciplinary Perspective on the Life Course”.

Organised by the Institute of Migration Studies at the University of Granada together with the Doctoral School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, the summer school will take place from 7 to 10 September 2026 at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of the University of Granada.

The programme will offer a critical and up to date perspective on international migration through a life course approach. It will combine keynote lectures, methodological innovation workshops, scientific presentations by doctoral students and a knowledge transfer forum with NGOs and civil society organisations.

Bringing together scholars and professionals from institutions such as the University of Birmingham, the University of Girona, HES SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, the International Business School Manchester and the International Organization for Migration, the summer school will explore migration from a strongly interdisciplinary perspective.

Topics will be addressed through the fields of law, anthropology, sociology, social work, human geography and gerontology, offering participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge, build academic connections and develop interdisciplinary collaboration in an international environment.

Participation is free of charge for students from Arqus universities. Participants may also apply for accommodation grants, subject to availability.
