Arqus Language Café: Registration for the 13th Edition and a Call for Tutors

The 13th edition of the Arqus Language Café will take place from 26 October to 18 December. Students and staff from the Arqus European University Alliance are invited to register for the online sessions and practise foreign languages in a friendly and informal environment.
The Arqus Language Cafés offer an opportunity to develop speaking skills, broaden linguistic and cultural knowledge, and connect with members of other Arqus university communities. They are not formal language courses – sessions take place in small groups and focus primarily on conversation, communication and intercultural exchange. Participants are therefore recommended to have at least a basic knowledge of the language they choose to practise.
Registration for the online sessions of the 13th edition of the Arqus Language Cafés is now open. You can register here.
This autumn, in-person Arqus Language Cafés will also be organised at the Vilnius University Faculty of Philology, and we are currently looking for language tutors to support these sessions.
Language tutors are native or highly proficient speakers who guide conversations, encourage participants to take an active part and help them develop their speaking skills through practice.
VU students and staff are invited to become tutors for English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and other languages. We particularly welcome those who would like to help international participants practise Lithuanian.
The in-person Language Cafés will take place once a week and last one hour. Tutors will be able to choose a time that suits their schedule and will receive training, guidelines, suggested conversation topics and practical advice. At the end of the edition, tutors will receive an Arqus certificate recognising their contribution.
If you would like to become a tutor for the in-person Arqus Language Cafés at Vilnius University, please register by 16 October. You can find the registration form here.
More information about the Arqus Language Cafés is available here.
