Futures Studies, Also Known as Strategic Foresight, Is Becoming Increasingly Important in Public Policy, Governance and Organisational Decision-Making. International Organisations Such as the United Nations, the European Commission, OECD and Unesco Are Increasingly Highlighting Foresight and Futures Literacy as Key Capabilities for Navigating Uncertainty and Preparing for Long-Term Challenges.
Across Europe, Governments, Organisations and Businesses Are Also Increasingly Integrating Foresight Into Strategic Planning. However, Opportunities to Gain a Structured Introduction to Futures Studies Remain Relatively Limited.
The “Introduction to Futures Studies” Micro-Credential Aims to Help Address This Gap by Introducing Participants to Ways of Thinking About and Working with the Future. The Course Will Help Learners Develop a Futures-Oriented Mindset and Become More Confident in Exploring Uncertainty, Possible Developments and Their Implications.
