Call for Tutors: Join the 12th Edition of the Arqus Café

The call for tutors is open again for the 12th edition of the Arqus Café, which will run from 16 March to 29 May 2026. If you would like to join the Arqus Café community as a tutor, register here. All Arqus languages will be offered, and new languages are also welcome.

Tutors support and guide conversations in their first or native language, encouraging participants in their learning. Arqus Café tutors receive training, guidelines, topics and strategies for leading sessions, and in many cases two tutors per language work together. The cafés take place weekly for one hour, and selected tutors can schedule their café at a time that suits them.

Arqus Cafés are informal sessions where students and staff come together to practise languages with guidance from native-level speaking tutors. Offered in both online and in-person formats, the cafés provide a relaxed environment in which participants can develop their language skills and broaden their cultural understanding without the pressures typically associated with teacher-led classroom lessons. The cafés began in spring 2020 as a digital initiative and quickly grew in popularity across the Alliance’s member universities. Today, they remain one of Arqus’ most successful activities, offering both cultural exchange and opportunities to connect on a personal level.
