Registration Now Open for VU’s Smart Internship Programme

Registration is now open for Vilnius University (VU) students wishing to take part in the Smart Internship programme. During the internship, students work on real-world challenges faced by businesses and institutions, gain hands-on experience, and build professional connections. For some, it also serves as the first step towards their future career.
This semester, VU students can choose from five challenges submitted by the Office of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority, the bond investment platform ‘Bondea’, the Chamber of Insurance Brokers, and ‘Go Vilnius’ – the city’s business and tourism development agency. International VU students are invited to choose the challenges submitted by ‘Go Vilnius’ and the Chamber of Insurance Brokers, which will be tackled in English. More information about the challenges is available here.
The Smart Internship brings together interdisciplinary teams of five to seven students to work on a challenge set by a company or public institution. Throughout the process, each team is supported by a University supervisor and a mentor from the host organisation. The programme is based on the Design Thinking methodology. Additional training is provided as needed to help students strengthen their skills in time management, teamwork, public speaking, and self-reflection.
Open to all VU students, regardless of their study programme, cycle, or year, the Smart Internship may be completed either as a voluntary (additional) internship or as a professional internship forming part of their studies. The programme lasts three months.
Registration is open until 20 September. Find out more here.
