Vilnius University Recognised by Students, Receives Reputation Barometer Award

Vilnius University (VU) has received the 2026 EDUopinions Reputation Barometer Award and has been recognised among the ‘Outstanding Institutions: Rated by Students 2026’. The award recognises universities whose positive reputation is reflected in student discussions across multiple online platforms.

In the Reputation Barometer assessment, VU received an overall score of 90. Its strongest areas were location (87), internationality (84), and student life (84). Student feedback also highlighted the University’s international environment and practical elements across many of its study programmes.

VU received the distinction alongside internationally renowned universities, including the University of Cambridge, Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Chicago, École Polytechnique in Paris, and the Stockholm School of Economics.

The award was presented during the 2026 EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow, where representatives of higher education institutions from around the world gathered to exchange ideas and strengthen international cooperation. VU Pro-Rector for Studies Dr Valdas Jaskūnas and Head of the Study Quality and Development Division Andrius Uždanavičius accepted the award on behalf of VU.

Unlike conventional rankings that rely on ratings and star scores, the Reputation Barometer analyses the emotions and sentiments expressed by students in their experiences. Drawing from EDUopinions, Google reviews, and discussions on platforms such as Reddit and Quora, the Barometer offers a student-centred perspective on global university reputation. The assessment therefore provides institutions with insights into their digital reputation based on feedback from their most important stakeholders – students.
