VU Retains the Top Position in the Lithuanian University Rankings

Vilnius University (VU) continues to be the most highly ranked among public and private universities in the national ranking of education and higher education institutions published by the magazine ‘Reitingai’. This year, VU scored 63.69 points out of a possible 100.

According to the magazine’s data, VU leads in two of the five criteria groups.

In this year’s ranking, VU outperforms other higher education institutions in the country in the assessment of research performance (18.13 points) and in the criteria group covering applicants’ State Matura Examination results, student dropout rates, incentive scholarships, and study efficiency (15.65 points).

In addition, VU received the top score in the employer evaluation – the quality of its graduates was rated at 8.31 points.

This year, Lithuanian higher education institutions were ranked according to 43 parameters, divided into five major criteria groups: alumni impact and added value, as well as the employer evaluation; research, arts, and/or sports activities and their contribution to the national economy; the number of students and the quality of studies; international competitiveness and standing in the international higher education landscape; and current and future academic staff.

Since 2014, the national ranking of higher education institutions compiled by the magazine ‘Reitingai’ has been published twice a year. Lithuanian higher education institutions had also been assessed in national rankings prior to that. Throughout this period, Vilnius University has consistently remained at the top of the country’s rankings.
