Ivanauskas Fabijonas (1925-2011) was born in Mažonys village, Tauragė parish, in the family of Petras Ivanauskas and Zopija Ramanauskaitė-Ivanauskienė. He grew up together with five brothers and sisters. In 1933, he started school in Riditiškės. He entered Tauragė Gymnasium in 1936 and graduated in 1942. He started teaching in Riditiškės in 1944 and was appointed to lead the Žygaičiai Division of the Lithuanian Department of Education in 1945. In August 1946, he applied for admission to the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University and was accepted. In 1949, his brother Antanas was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison. On 11 December 1951, an order was issued to remove Fabijonas from the list of students “for giving false information”. Fabijonas was exiled to the Krasnoyarsk Krai, where his parents were already living in exile. In April 1952, he sent a letter from Krasnoyarsk, asking for a non-academic certificate attesting to a partial completion of studies.
