Cirlė Širerytė (1916–?) was born in Butrimonys, Alytus District, into the family of Šlioma and Pešė Šireriai. In 1939, she graduated from the “Javne” private Jewish gymnasium in Telšiai. The same year, she applied for admission to the Philosophy Department of the Faculty of Humanities at Vytautas Magnus University and was accepted as an unclassified student. A week later, Širerytė re-applied to be transferred to the History Department of the same faculty and was also accepted. There are no documents in her file indicating when she started studying at Vilnius University, but the request to confirm her as a full-time student has remained. On 19 September 1941, she was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. The decision notes that Širerytė was expelled from the History Department of the Faculty of Humanities, but it is not specified whether she was an unclassified or a full-time student at the time. No further information on the fate of Širerytė is known.
