Efimas Oleinikas (1922–?) was born in Kyiv. In 1940, he graduated from the private Jewish Gymnasium of Epstein and Speiser in Vilnius. On 9 September of the same year, he submitted an application to study at the Medical Department of the Faculty of Medicine at Vytautas Magnus University. However, there is no information on whether he was accepted. On 19 September 1940, Oleinikas applied to the Medical Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Vilnius University and was accepted. On 19 September 1941, he was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. He survived the Holocaust and, in 1944, submitted a request for the issuance of his school-leaving certificate.
