Aldona Peikaitė was born into a family of farmers in Žučiai village, Žagarė rural district. She went to a primary school in the village of Rukuičiai and then was admitted to the fifth form of Žagarė primary school. She went to Žagarė progymnasium until 1942, and from 1942 to 1944 was a pupil at Joniškis state gymnasium. In 1945, Aldona Peikaitė started work at the office of maternity hospital in Žagarė, but quit the job because she wanted to study. In 1945, she became a student of the Medical Faculty of Vilnius University. In 1949, Aldona was deported to Irkutsk region during the operation of mass deportation ‘The Surf”. She wanted to study at Irkutsk medical Institute while in exile and wrote to Vilnius University asking for the necessary documents to be sent to her. Aldona Peikaitė did not return to Lithuania.
