Investigations of Solutions to Differential and Integro-differential Equations. Prof. K. Pileckas. 2014–2017.

The existence of an axially-symmetric solution (with arbitrary fluxes) to the steady non-homogeneous boundary value problem for Navier–Stokes equations in a 3D exterior domain with multiply-connected boundary was proved. The free-boundary problem for the Navier-Stokes equations describing a flow down the perturbed inclined plane was studied. For sufficiently small data the solvability and uniqueness results were proved in Hölder spaces. The asymptotic behavior of the solution was investigated.

Research in Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes and their Applications in Econometrics, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. Prof. V. Paulauskas, Prof. A. Račkauskas. 2010–2015.

The asymptotic behavior of spectral covariance of a large class of random processes without finite variance is established together with the asymptotic behavior of the closed convex huls of random Gaussian fields with values in Banach spaces, taken over the increasing sets of argument of the field.
First- and second-order approximations of the Heston model by discrete random variables are constructed, the obtained results are compared with the well-known Andersen and Alfonsi approximations.
The recursive formulas are derived to calculate the ultimate ruin probabilities for bi-seasonal discrete time risk model, the conditions are found under which the randomly weighted sum has a long or dominatedly varying tail together with the primary dependent summands.
Sufficient condition is obteined  for the finiteness of p-variation of trajectories of  Ito processes that are Markovian, the equivalence of several generalized Blumenthal-Getoor indices is proved under certain conditions.
Anisotropic long-range dependence in autoregressive random fields is examined.

Analysis of Discrete Structures by Probabilistic, Combinatorial and Analytical Methods.
Prof. M. Bloznelis, Prof. G. Stepanauskas. 2011–2015.

The sequences of distributions defined via the generalized divisor function were considered. The possible limit distributions were described and the remainder terms were estimated.
Two models of evolving affiliation networks have been studied: the fitness model and preferred attachment model. For both models the asymptotic degree distribution was determined.

Research Council of Lithuania. Investigation of Mathematical Models of Real Networks (No. MIP-067/2013). Prof. M. Bloznelis 20132014.

The k-connectivity threshold of the uniform s-intersection graph has been established. The chromatic number of the uniform 1-intersection graph has been  determined using a greedy algorithm. A preferred attachment affiliation network model is constructed and its asymptotic degree distribution is determined.  The asymptotic bivariate degree-degree distribution of an inhomogeneous random intersection graph is established and the relation between the tail properties of this distribution and the clustering properties of the random graph is pinpointed.

Models of Mathematical Statistics, their Analysis and Applications. Prof. V. Bagdonavičius. 20102014.

New tests for parametric reliability and survival analysis models were constructed. Asymptotic properties of the tests were investigated.
A new definition of invariant functions was proposed, which allows simplifying the proofs of some known facts in ergodic theory. An example of an invariant distribution without ergodic decomposition was constructed.
Several diagnostic methods for benign tumours and melanoma were analyzed in collaboration with National Cancer Institute researchers.
A modification of generalized DPR estimator and several generalizations of Hill and moment ratio esimators for the tail index were proposed. Asymptotic normality of the introduced estimators was proved, and comparison (using de Haan and Peng comparison scheme) with other estimators of the tail index was provided.
In collaboration with ornithologists, a model for prognosis of stork’s localization, based on different country factors, was created.
Algorithms for information gathering, visualization and compression, classification methods and algorithms for analysis of echocardiography data are investigated.

Problems of Algebraic and Analytic Number Theory. Prof. A. Dubickas, Prof. A. Laurinčikas, Prof. E. Manstavičius. 2014–2018.

An asymptotical formula for the number of polynomials of bounded height and fixed degree was found. Nonreciprocal units in some number fields have heen constructed. They show that the so-called Oeljeklaus-Toma manifolds, associated to those number fields, do not exist.
Discrete universality theorems for the Hurwitz zeta-function were proved. A limit theorem for twists of L functions of elliptic curves was obtained.
It was proved that the ordinates of zeros of the Selberg zeta-function are uniformly distributed modulo 1. Also, the value distribution of the Laplasian related to the Riemann surface was investigated.
Asymptotic distributions of the random permutation statistics with respect to various probability measures were dealt with.
