Strategies of Traditional Knowledge in Asia. Prof. A. Beinorius. 2007–2014.
During the research year 2014, a team of scholars of the Centre proceeded with investigations in research program Traditional Systems of Knowledge in Asia endorsed by the Scientific Board of Vilnius University. Emphasis was laid on historical, cultural and anthropological aspects of traditional Asian cultures (India, China, Japan, Central Asia and Middle East), on methodological analysis of the traditional systems of knowledge in Asia (literature, astrology and medicine, philosophy and religion, art and architecture). The proceedings of the research were included into seminars and public lectures, published in the national and international academic editions. The special issue of the journal Acta Orientalia Vilnensia entitled “From Highbrow to Lowbrow: Studies of Indian B-grade cinema and beyond” (guest-edited by Dr Deimantas Valančiūnas) was published.
