Internship Scholarships for International Student

Vilnius University invites international students and Lithuanians from abroad to apply for internship scholarships in Lithuanian companies and organizations in 2026.

This programme is designed to help students gain practical work experience, develop career skills, and increase their opportunities to stay and work in Lithuania after graduation.

Why should you apply?

Who can apply?

  • international students or Lithuanians from abroad studying at Vilnius University;
  • students that during the traineeship will be enrolled in the final year of a Master’s degree programme or integrated studies;
  • students who are motivated to gain professional experience in their field of study in Lithuania;
  • students who have secured (or are in the process of securing) a host organization for the traineeship and will indicate it in the application form.

About internship

What is the application process?
  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. 
  • The deadline for submission is the 15th day of each month.
  • Applications will be reviewed periodically after each deadline, and applicants will be contacted regarding the outcome.
  • Last applications will be accepted on September 15th.
When and how long is the internship?
  • Internship takes place in 2026 (from April/May until November);
  • lasts 2 months;
  • involves at least 20 hours per week (half-day workload).
What scholarship will I receive?
  • Scholarship amount: 650 EUR per month
  • The scholarship is provided for the entire duration of the traineeship
  • The amount is fixed and defined by the programme funding conditions
What study fields students can apply?

Students from all study fields can apply but priority may be given to students from the following study fields:

  • Computing
  • Life Sciences
  • Technological sciences
  • Engineering sciences
What is the selection process?

Scholarships will be awarded through a transparent and competitive selection process, ensuring:

  • Transparency – all relevant information about the programme and selection process is publicly available;
  • Equal opportunities – all eligible applicants are treated fairly and without discrimination;
  • Publicity – the call is announced through official university communication channels.
Who gets the priority in the application process?
  • Students receiving state support in accordance with the Description of the Procedure for Providing State Support for the Studies and Lithuanian Studies Education of Foreigners and Lithuanians Abroad in Lithuania, approved by Order No. V-771 of the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania of 22 May 2020 “On the Provision of State Support for Studies, Academic Mobility and Lithuanian Studies Education in Lithuania and Abroad.”;
  • Students who are studying in postgraduate or integrated studies in the following study fields: Computing, Life Sciences, Technological Sciences, Engineering Sciences;
  • Students who are Lithuanians from abroad or foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin.
