The programme aims to prepare students for research-oriented careers in the field of European integration, for example, in European and international organisations, associations and multinational companies. Drawing on an interdisciplinary and international range of subjects, students will explore the historical, social, political and cultural processes shaping European societies, as well as the role of Europe and its individual communities as global actors.

Key Admission Requirements:
- Admission requires a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent EQF6-level qualification in the humanities or social sciences; applicants with degrees in life or natural sciences are also eligible if they provide a convincing motivation. Applicants must have fluent English at no lower than C1 level, demonstrated through relevant certificates and assessed during the interview. Selection is based on thematic and methodological fit and previous academic results (40%), motivation (15%), language competence and performance during the interview (30%), and extra-curricular activities and/or additional languages (15%).

Learning outcomes
- Knowledge and in-depth understanding of the complex processes of European integration, Europeanisation and globalisation, as well as the ability to follow their development, critically assess them, and understand how the concepts of Europeanisation and globalisation have been and can be applied across different European regions, while defining their relations with other world regions and international organisations.
- Knowledge, understanding and the ability to explain how global and regional developments shape the role of Europe and Europeans as a global actor or actors.
- The ability to apply a range of theories, perspectives and methods derived from different analytical and theoretical approaches, integrating and critically analysing them to examine European integration, the EU’s role in the world and its relations with other actors.
- Knowledge and understanding of European institutions and policymaking, as well as the ability to conduct independent academic research and analysis.
- The ability to integrate and apply different research methodologies and methods, compare concepts and examine their interrelationships.
- Knowledge and understanding of one’s disciplinary and academic roots, as well as the opportunity to explore different academic approaches to examining various European actors and their relationship with globalisation processes.
- The ability to communicate effectively using appropriate terminology and engaging with diverse audiences.
- The ability to apply social insights and concepts when designing and conducting an independent study or research project and present the findings in a scientifically grounded article, presentation or final thesis.
- The ability to develop transferable and professional skills relevant to a range of potential future careers and activities in a global society.
