Researcher (Cyber Security)

Kaunas Faculty, Institute of Social Sciences and Applied Informatics.

The date of the call for applications: 7 January 2026.
The deadline for document submission: 6 February 2026 (local time zone UTC+2).

A Vilnius University Researcher is a scientist who conducts research and is capable of publishing their outcomes in national or international level scientific publications.

Description and responsibilities of the position:

It is expected that the Researcher will participate in high-quality national or international research in Cyber Security topics within social sciences (economics and/or management) and/or natural sciences (computer science), and/or technology sciences (computer engineering) and will publish the results of their research in international publications, will prepare scientific studies and/or monographs, including those published by recognized international publishers. They will submit funding applications for research projects and implement the funded projects. They will participate in the training of researchers (doctoral students and research fellows). As an expert in their field, they will provide insights and recommendations to the public when necessary. They will foster professional relations with their colleagues abroad. They will implement other functions assigned to a researcher provided for in the legal acts of Vilnius University.

Qualification requirements:

A Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences (Mathematics or Computer Science) or Technology (Computer Engineering) or Social Sciences (economics or Management).

In case the candidates are of equal standing, the following will be considered an advantage:

Experience in preparing successful (funded) competitive project applications and implementing projects.

Experience in organizing international conferences and other scientific events.

Experience in cooperation with social partners.

Start of work: 1 September 2026, the contest is held for a five-year term of office.

Workload: Full-time position

Official monthly salary (gross): EUR 2,671.20
